JENNA MATTHEWS, MA, LPC
She/Her/Hers
Jenna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with dual Master’s degrees in Community Counseling and Child & Adolescent Psychology. With a background focused on crisis counseling, Jenna's approach centers on meeting clients where they are, both physically and emotionally. Creating a safe, comfortable space for clients to share, process, and heal is at the heart of her practice, built upon a foundation of respect for each person.
For Jenna, being a therapist means creating a safe and welcoming space where clients can freely express themselves and find healing. She values respect for each person as fundamental to her practice. Jenna embraces an LGBTQ+ affirmative and strengths-based approach, incorporating trauma-informed and Health At Every Size® principles into her work.
She works with children aged 9 and older, adolescents, and adults, addressing a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, disordered eating and eating disorders, behavioral issues, stress management, self-esteem, life transitions, grief, and self-worth. In her therapy sessions, Jenna draws from various modalities such as Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), experiential methods like art and activities, and narrative techniques. She aims to empower her clients to navigate their challenges and discover their inner resilience.
